Olaf Heinen enhances Derby Cycle management team

Cloppenburg. Derby Cycle, the bicycle manufacturer with the highest turnover in Germany, has complemented its management team with the new addition of Olaf Heinen. With effect from today, new Managing Director Mr Heinen will take over responsibility for the Finance, IT, Controlling and HR departments. Born in Oldenburg, he was previously employed at an automobile supplier and an international brand company in the sanitary industry.

Olaf Heinen is a graduate in business administration and has held a range of managerial roles over more than 20 years. For example, he was CFO of the internationally active Hüppe Group, where he held complete commercial responsibility and managed the Controlling, Finance, IT and General Administration departments. Most recently, Mr Heinen was the Finance & Administration Director at the LINDEN Group automobile supplier.

"As part of our continuous growth, it was simply necessary for us to broaden our management structure and place it in the hands of experienced specialists. In the finance specialist Olaf Heinen we have found the best possible person for this role and are very excited to have him on board," said Thomas Raith, Chairman of the Board at Derby Cycle Holding GmbH. "With his many years of experience in leading roles and specialist knowledge he will be responsible for our Finance, IT, Controlling and HR departments, and will bring with him a new energy to push Derby Cycle further along its growth curve," added Raith.

Derby Cycle Holding GmbH is the largest bicycle producer in Germany, with sales totalling €263.7 million (2011/2012), and one of the leading manufacturers in Europe with its brands Kalkhoff, FOCUS, Raleigh, Univega, Rixe and Cervélo. In 2011/2012, bike sales totalled 474,000 including 104,000 e-bikes and pedelecs, for which Derby Cycle is the leading producer in Germany. The Derby Cycle range also includes competition-level racing bikes, mountain bikes, high-quality trekking, city, off-road and children's bikes for everyday use and touring.
