1/18/2012 - DCD Rights acquires
worldwide distribution rights to new
Iron Maiden Live concert and
film
International distributor DCD Rights
has acquired worldwide distribution
rights to the new Iron Maiden Live
concert EN VIVO! Live At Estadio
Nacional, Santiago (1x60'/1x90'/HD 5.1)
along with the accompanying documentary
Iron Maiden: Behind The Beast (1x60'/HD
5.1). The programmes will be launched
at NATPE 2012 in Miami next week.
EN VIVO! captures the incredible
excitement and atmosphere of a live
Iron Maiden show. Filmed in Santiago,
Chile on 10th April 2011 during their
spectacular 'The Final Frontier World
Tour 2010-11', Maiden became the first
heavy rock band ever to perform at the
prestigious Estadio Nacional. Playing
to a packed audience of over 50,000
Chilean devotees, the concert was
filmed digitally using 22 HD cameras
and an octocam (a flying camera which
captures aerial crowd scenes), comes in
both stereo and 5.1 audio and features
songs from the band's latest studio
album 'The Final Frontier', which was
No 1 in over 28 countries, (including
the Grammy winning 'El Dorado' and the
anthemic 'Coming Home'), alongside
classic fan favourites such as 'The
Trooper', 'The Number Of The Beast' and
'Fear Of The Dark'. With spectacular
stage backdrops, dynamic musicianship
and a literally jaw-dropping appearance
by Eddie, this live show encapsulates
to perfection the heart and soul of
Iron Maiden 2011.
The Iron Maiden: Behind The Beast
documentary describes the extraordinary
story of one of the most acclaimed and
ambitious touring shows in the world.
It follows the life of the characters
behind what it takes to bring 98 Live
shows in 36 different countries to an
audience of over two million people.
The expertise and experience, the
problem-solving and successes and the
sheer scale of the undertaking comes to
life through the day to day coverage of
the tour and the background work of the
crews in sound, lighting, carpentry,
wardrobe and set design. Iron Maiden
are unique in that they customize their
own 757 plane, named Ed Force One, for
transport, piloted by lead singer Bruce
Dickinson and using their own airline
crew and transport team.
Filmed during the 'Round The World In
66 Days' leg of The Final Frontier
World Tour, as well as interviews with
the Iron Maiden crew it interweaves
anecdotes from the band and their fans,
and includes footage of the live show
in this comprehensive guide to the
intricacies of staging massive live
Stadium shows around the Globe.
Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, DCD Rights,
says: "We are thrilled to bring such
high profile music programming to
NATPE, as the music genre continues to
play a major part in our offering and
has done so for over 25 years. Iconic
bands such as Iron Maiden generate
ongoing appeal around the world, as the
sales success of the band's previous
concerts in our catalogue
demonstrates".
The shows head up DCD Rights' NATPE
slate which will also feature completed
episodes of highly anticipated drama
The Straits (10 x 52') produced by
Matchbox Pictures (The Slap) and due
for transmission shortly on ABC
Australia.
