Craft Brew Alliance, Inc. (“CBA”) (Nasdaq:BREW), a leading craft brewing company, announced today that Paul D. Davis has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors, effective March 8, 2016. A seasoned business leader with more than three decades of consumer packaged goods experience, Mr. Davis, 58, was most recently Chief Executive Officer of popchips® until August 2015 and became Co-Chairman of its Board of Directors in September 2015.

“I am delighted to welcome Paul to our board of directors,” said David Lord, Chairman, Craft Brew Alliance Board of Directors. “Paul’s experience leading innovative lifestyle brands such as Kettle Foods, Starbucks, popchips, and Redbox through transformational change make him a great addition as we continue to steer CBA through one of the most exciting and unpredictable phases in the history of craft beer.”

“Given the level of unprecedented change and competition within the craft beer industry, CBA’s growth over the past two years – under the leadership of Andy and his executive team – is quite impressive,” said Davis. “Having served on Kona Brewing Company’s board of directors, I am really excited to see how much Kona has evolved and how vibrant the brand has become since merging with CBA. I’m looking forward to joining Dave and my fellow board members to continue building CBA and its brands for success in the near and long-term.”

Davis took the helm as CEO of popchips in December 2013 and led the snack company to increased awareness, product innovation, and topline and bottom line growth. Prior to joining popchips, he served as CEO of Coinstar/Redbox from 2009 to 2013, during which the company was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies for three years in a row. His previous leadership roles include serving as CEO of Kettle Foods and 14 years at Frito-Lay, where he served as chief customer operations officer and then president of Frito-Lay in Canada, among various positions. Davis, who also served as president of North America for Starbucks, started his career at Procter & Gamble.

Mr. Davis graduated cum laude from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

About Craft Brew Alliance

CBA is a leading craft brewing company, which brews, brands, and markets some of the world’s most respected and best-loved American craft beers.

The company is home to three of the earliest pioneers in craft beer: Redhook Ale Brewery, Washington’s largest craft brewery founded in 1981; Widmer Brothers Brewing, Oregon’s largest craft brewery founded in 1984; and Kona Brewing Company, Hawaii’s oldest and largest craft brewery founded in 1994. As part of Craft Brew Alliance, these craft brewing legends have expanded their reach across the U.S. and more than 15 international markets.

In addition to growing and nurturing distinctive brands rooted in local heritage, Craft Brew Alliance is committed to developing innovative new category leaders, such as Omission Beer, which is the #1 beer in the gluten free beer segment, and Square Mile Cider, a tribute to the early American settlers who purchased the first plots of land in the Pacific Northwest.
