28 January 2014 Collection House appoints new Director
Collection House Limited's (ASX Code: CLH) Chairman, David Liddy, today announced the appointment of Ms Julie- Anne Schafer as a Director of its Board, effective immediately.
Ms Schafer is an experienced Director in the financial services and other business sectors. Her current non-executive directorships include Territory Insurance Office, Catholic Church Insurance and Aviation Australia Pty Ltd. Ms Schafer has worked in a number of non-executive director roles with a focus on business outcomes, customers, risk management and governance. She was previously Chair of RACQ and RACQ Insurance, and also had former directorships including Queensland Rail and was a Commissioner of the National Transport Commission.
Ms Schafer holds an Honours degree in law from the University of Queensland. Her executive career was as a partner in legal services firms. During her legal career she became President of the Queensland Law Society, was a member of the Law Council of Australia, Chairman of the Solicitors Board. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme
Court of Queensland and later the High Court of Australia.
Ms Schafer was Deputy Chancellor of the Queensland University of Technology and an Adjunct Professor at the
University of Queensland, and is also a facilitator for the AICD in Governance, Strategy and Risk Management.
Ms Schafer is a former Queensland Telstra Business Women's award winner and is a member of the Australian
Institute of Company Directors and of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
Mr Liddy said that, "Ms Schafer will add value to the Board given her proven board and governance stewardship, strategic and visionary thinking and business knowledge and experience. Ms Schafer brings strong legal credentials and extensive corporate experience".
Ms Schafer's appointment will continue until the Company's next Annual General Meeting in October 2014 at which time she will be eligible for re-election for a full three (3) year term.
