City National : Hires Seasoned Commercial Banker James Gibson in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, CA - City National Bank, California's Premier Private and Business Bank, today announced that it has hired James Gibson as senior vice president and senior relationship manager for its expanding Commercial Banking Services (CBS) group in Orange County. Gibson, who is a 16 year banking professional, has worked his entire career in Orange County and joins City National from Bank of America.

In his new role with City National, Gibson will be responsible for developing new middle market commercial clients through referrals and calling efforts as well as underwriting and packaging commercial loan requests. He will also network through various civic and trade organizations to generate new business opportunities and to promote City National. Gibson will work closely with other areas of the bank, such as Core Banking, Private Client Services and the Real Estate Division to enhance existing relationships and develop new business opportunities.

Gibson will work out of City National's newly renovated and expanded Regional Center in Orange County at 18111 Von Karman Avenue, Suite 120. As a colleague of the Commercial Banking Services group, Gibson will report to Aaron Olson, senior vice president and team leader of the CBS group in Orange County.

Prior to joining City National Bank, Gibson served as senior vice president and relationship manager in the commercial banking group for Bank of America in Costa Mesa. During his 16-year career, he has also worked for Citibank as a relationship manager and business banking officer, and Balboa Capital Corporation as a commercial account executive, and for WNC &

Associates as a construction finance manager and portfolio financial analyst. He began his banking career with UBS PaineWebber as a financial advisor intern in 2000.

Gibson is a graduate of Chapman University in Orange, California, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance. He is also active in the community serving as a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
