Brighthouse Financial, Inc. Appoints Stephen C. Hooley as an Independent Member of the Board

Brighthouse Financial, Inc. announced that on August 19, 2020, its Board of Directors appointed Stephen C. Hooley as an independent member of the Board. Hooley has more than three decades of experience in a range of industries, including financial services and technology. He most recently served as chairman, chief executive officer and president of DST Systems, Inc. from 2014 to 2018. Prior to assuming the role of chairman at DST in 2014, he served as DST’s president and chief executive officer from 2012 to 2014 and as its president and chief operating officer from 2009 to 2012. Before joining DST, he served as chief executive officer and president of Boston Financial Data Services. He was also chief executive officer of International Financial Data Services Limited Partnership. Hooley began his career as an engineer with Texas Instruments Incorporated. He currently serves on the boards of Stericycle, Inc. and Second Quarter Holdings, Inc.
Brighthouse Financial, Inc. is annuities and life insurance provider. The Companyâs segments include Annuities, Life, and Run-off. The Annuities segment consists of a variety of variable, fixed, index-linked and income annuities designed to address contract holderâs needs for protected wealth accumulation on a tax-deferred basis, wealth transfer and income security. The Life segment consists of insurance products and services, including term, universal, whole, and variable life products designed to address policyholdersâ needs for financial security and protected wealth transfer, which may be on a tax-advantaged basis.
