The Supervisory Board of Open joint stock company BANK URALSIB approved the appointment of Ilkka Salonen as Chairman of the bank's Management Board. Ilkka Salonen may take office in September and will be responsible for improving operating efficiency of the bank which is of special importance in view of the shareholders' plans to hold an IPO. In addition to Promsvyazbank's Board of Directors, Ilkka Salonen has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Uralsib Bank since June.

Present Chairman of Uralsib's Management Board Ildar Muslimov will take over as Chairman of the Management Board of Uralsib Financial Corporation of which Uralsib Bank is a member. Ilkka Salonen has been present on the Russian financial market since 1985 when he took charge of Moscow-based representative office of Kansallis-Osake-Pankki. He was in charge of the business of Merita Nordbanken (now known as Nordea) in the Baltic and CIS countries, developed the business of the International Moscow Bank (now known as UniCredit-Bank), managed the assets of Renaissance and headed Sberbank's international business.

Since 2009, Ilkka Salonen hasn't been engaged in operational management being a member of boards of directors of various companies.
