Aluminium Bahrain BSCC : Alba’s Director of Reduction Lines & Services Attains PhD

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the leading Bahrain-based aluminium producer, is pleased to announce that the Director of Reduction Lines and Services, Mr. Abdulla Habib Ahmed Ali, was awarded his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering - Aluminium Smelting from University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia.

In his thesis, Abdulla focused on the factors influencing heat dissipation from reduction cells and recommended different means to make the electrolysis cells more productive while reducing the possibility of cell disturbances due to thermal and chemical imbalances.

On this achievement, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray, said:

'I am very proud of Abdulla on the achievement of his PhD, which is considered the pinnacle of learning. At Alba we believe there is nothing more valuable than education and that learning is a journey that never ends. .

Abdulla Habib Ali Ahmed joined Alba in 1995 as trainee engineer and has risen quickly through the ranks of Alba Management. During the last 21 years, Abdulla has taken many leading roles; Superintendent Reduction Line, R&D Manager, Reduction Lines Manager, Customers Technical Support Manager, until he was appointed as Director of Reduction Lines and Services in February 2015.
