SYDNEY, Australia, 17 January 2017 -- Aconex Limited (ASX: ACX), provider of the #1 global platform connecting teams on construction and engineering projects, today announced an enterprise agreement with Lahey Constructions, one of Australia's most prominent and long-standing construction firms.

Under the three-year agreement, Lahey will implement the Aconex platform for programme-wide collaboration around core processes such as tendering, design reviews, document control, and workflow management. In addition, Lahey plans to leverage Aconex application programming interfaces (APIs) for data exchange with internal and external systems.

'At Lahey, our mission statement is grounded is three fundamental principles - accountability, transparency and pride. Aconex will allow us to walk the walk and talk the talk on each of those core values,' said Lahey Chief Operating Officer Vargha Zare. 'With public works projects, there's so much information to sort through, collate, retain, and report. Aconex will enable us to do all of those things in a streamlined fashion.'

With over 500 completed projects and 52 national awards, Lahey has earned its reputation as an industry innovator across several key sectors, including public works, education, health care, and justice and correctional services. After 68 years in business, Lahey continues to expand through new systems and processes, the growth and upscaling of its management team, and a strategic relocation to new headquarters in Sydney.

Commitment to Superior Performance

As a federally accredited best-practice builder, a distinction that requires a quarterly Contractor Performance Report (CPR), Lahey has made superior performance a central driver of its business strategy. To support its CPR goals, Lahey required a single solution for end-to-end project communications and process automation.

'Prior to our engagement with Aconex, we were using various systems, databases and dashboards for email, reporting, tendering, and project delivery,' said Mr. Zare. 'This was not very efficient, especially when new people joined the team and had to learn all these different systems and processes, as well as policies. Aconex will enable us to streamline our processes so that our teams work more efficiently, and will help us deliver superior results. As we continue to grow our business, Aconex will be a fundamental part of our quality management system.'

History of Success with Aconex

One factor in Lahey's decision to standardise on Aconex was a history of success with the platform over several projects. These included:

Toronto Police Station ̶ this $7-million project for Police Property Group and the New South Wales Police Force consists of approximately 1,944 square metres of new facility space split between a ground level and a suspended plant room level. The project also includes a secure, covered external carpark area for 11 cars (two accessible). Aconex assisted the project team in efficiently and effectively letting and administering all of the trade packages for the project, as well as being a one-stop shop for communication directly with the client's project manager, Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions.

Riverstone Police Station ̶ this $15-million project consisted of the construction of an innovative new two-storey police station with a next-generation design for the community of Riverstone. The project included grade-level parking for 51 cars (the majority of the parking is undercover), a vehicle examination bay, car wash bays, and secure garages, as well as the protection and refurbishment of an existing heritage-listed building. Lahey used Aconex for a similar police station project in the community of Walgett.

Alice Springs Hospital Emergency Department and Medical Imaging Service - this $26.5-million project formed part of the Northern Territory Government's commitment to revitalizing health care infrastructure. Due to Lahey's effective management, supported by Aconex, the entire project was completed several months ahead of schedule. The Alice Springs development won the category of 'Public Building Over $10 Million' in the 2014 Master Builders Northern Territory's Excellence in Building & Construction Awards.

Process and Performance Optimisation

'We have helped Lahey deliver projects across multiple sectors, and we appreciate the opportunity to take our partnership to the next level with this enterprise agreement,' said Steve Brant, general manager of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) at Aconex. 'As Lahey continues to grow, Aconex will support the firm's ongoing success through the optimisation of processes and performance across all projects.'
