Under the bid, Aberdeen Asia will repurchase up to 2,562,780 ordinary shares, representing 5% of its issued and outstanding. The company will cancel the shares repurchased under the normal course issuer bid. The program will commence on July 20, 2018 and will expire on July 19, 2019. As of July 13, 2018, the company had 51,255,616 ordinary shares issued and outstanding.
