Export inspections of U.S. soybeans continue to climb, driven by strong shipments of soybeans to China, according to Department of Agriculture data.

Soybean export inspections totaled 2.46 million tons for the week ended Oct. 19, up from 2.04 million tons reported in the previous week. China was the key destination for U.S. soybean shipments - accounting for over 2 million tons sent there for the week.

Corn and wheat inspections turned lower from the previous week, the USDA reported. Corn inched lower, dropping to 437,549 tons versus 466,604 tons the previous week. Wheat declined more strongly, falling to 168,868 tons from 356,402 tons.

Taiwan was the leading destination for U.S. wheat, while Mexico was the leading destination for corn.

CBOT corn futures are down 0.7% today, while soybeans are down 0.5% and wheat is up 1.3%.
