A 20-yearold youngster, Shahid Iqbal, a resident of Shikarpur was brought in Emergency Department of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) with rabies-related complications on Wednesday. Executive Director JPMC, Dr Seemin Jamali, while talking to PPI, informed that Shahid Iqbal was admitted in the Isolation Word of JPMC with symptoms of hydrophobia and irritability. He was bitten by a dog about three months ago somewhere in Shikarpur but he was not immunized. She informed that a total eleven rabies-related deaths were reported at JPMC in 2019 while 10, 886 dog-bite cases at Rabies Centre in hospital previous year. She explained that there is no chance of survival if the affected person was not vaccinated on time.
