Hart InterCivic, a full service election solutions innovator and national leader in election technology, announced today that Wood County, Texas has selected the Hart Voting System to replace their existing system. The deal is valued at over $700,000.

Wood County was motivated to refresh due to the decreased reliability of their current system and Hart's reputation for great customer service. Hart InterCivic was able to provide better value and significantly lower total cost of ownership for programming, licensing, and on-going maintenance on newer, more reliable and more easily transportable equipment.

"Making the switch from our old optical scanners and ballot marking devices to Hart's eSlate system was a no-brainer for us," said Dawn Goldthorn, Wood County Elections Administrator. "We were concerned about the decreasing reliability of the older equipment, and about how cumbersome it was to transport and set up."

"The significant lower total cost of the ownership advantage with Hart made the switch possible," said Goldthorn. "We are looking forward to the overall ease of use of the new system, and to Hart's great customer service. Now we are also in a position to move to Vote Centers, should Wood County decide to go that way in the future."

"We are thrilled to have Wood County select Hart to provide their new voting system," said Derek Hutson, President of Hart InterCivic. "Hart is proud to continue supporting state and county governments by delivering trusted election systems. We look forward to working with Wood County in the 2014 elections and in the years to come."
