The community is being encouraged to attend drop-in information sessions in February to learn more about the NSW Government's first ever draft plan for the Far West.

Azaria Dobson, Manager, Regional Growth Planning, said the draft Far West Regional Plan takes in the region's eight local government areas and the Unincorporated Area.

'This draft plan will help guide the region over the next two decades towards a strengthened economy supported by the right infrastructure, with an exceptional natural environment and resilient communities,' Ms Dobson said.

'It's important for residents and stakeholders across the Far West to play a role in planning for the future of their region by taking a look at the draft plan and providing us with feedback.'

As well as providing information about the draft plan, people who attend the sessions will be given the opportunity to ask questions about the plan and will be shown how they can make a submission.

A local information session will be held on Monday 6 February 2017 at the Midway Community Centre, Midway Drive, Buronga, 7:30pm - 8:30pm.

The draft plan is on exhibition for community consultation until 13 March 2017. To view the draft plan or make a submission, visit www.planning.nsw.gov.au/FarWest
