LONDON (Reuters) - Ben Houchen was re-elected as mayor of Tees Valley in Northern England with a much reduced majority of the vote on Friday, giving Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's Conservatives a rare win in what was otherwise a tough set of elections results.

Houchen has been mayor of an area that includes the north-east towns of Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Darlington since 2017.
