WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding House passage of H.R. 351, the LNG Permitting Certainty and Transparency Act:

"The Department of Energy's slow approval process for liquefied natural gas export applications is threatening our opportunity to create more American jobs and is forcing our allies and trade partners to look elsewhere for their energy needs.  This common-sense bill would create 45,000 American jobs by 2018 by simply cutting through red tape and forcing the Department of Energy to issue decisions in a timely manner.  House Republicans do not want America to miss out on this incredible opportunity and urge our colleagues in the Senate to quickly pass this legislation."
