1223 GMT - The Swiss National Bank's CHF132 billion loss in 2022, equivalent to around $142 billion, is among the most-mentioned stories across news items over the past 12 hours, according to Factiva data. The central bank took most of its losses on foreign-currency positions amid a slump in stock markets, as it bought foreign assets in an effort to curb the appreciating Swiss franc. The loss is the largest on record, according to Bloomberg. The result means the Swiss government won't receive a payout from the SNB. In 2021, the central bank paid around CHF6 billion to the Swiss state as part of a profit distribution. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (edward.frankl@dowjones.com)
