The Government prepares the Plan Panama: the country of all - zero poverty

The Government will soon launch the 'Plan Panama: the country of all-zero poverty', which consists of integrating works such as Techos de Esperanza, 100/cero and infrastructure works along with social programs like Universal Scholarship, 120 to 65, Guardian Angel and the Network of Opportunities so that these reach who really need them.

'We are committed to work for a Panama prosperous and inclusive, redoubling efforts to defeat poverty and advance decisively towards the final closure of historical gaps that have prevented many to enjoy the benefits of our development', said on the morning this Monday the President Juan Carlos Varela during his report to the nation.

For this reason, Varela said that the country faces major global challenges such as the rising cost of living, which will lead to evaluate measures that have been adopted to avoid speculation with the price of food.

Additionally, he announced that will be strengthened the presence of fairs of product by the Institute of Agricultural Marketing (IMA) through the construction of new installations, which will start in the district San Miguelito.

Varela said that in 30 months of Government, some 80 million balboas have been invested in incentives for the production of rice and 30 million balboas in purchases from domestic producers and 'will continue to pay the rice farmers the best price per quintal in the history of our country', he said.

For the current year, the Government of the Republic of Panama will continue articulating the foreign policy with a clear focus on the social agenda, on the citizens, on the projects and goals framed in the social program of the State in the matters of education, health, housing, security, infrastructure and transparency, among others.
