A new construction project is scheduled to begin next week in Houston County that will include bridge repairs at the Trinity River on SH 21 and on SH 7.

Hodges and Son Construction Company, Inc., Omaha, TX, will serve as contractor for the $1.4 million project. No work will be done from the bridge but crews are scheduled to work from barges. Mats will be placed through the work area to protect the environment. Work on the substructure is expected to continue across the river and go slightly into Madison County on SH 21.

Motorists are urged to remain alert in the area, reduce speed and expect workers and equipment throughout the area. Motorists should expect possible delays at each end of the bridge and obey all traffic control devices, signals or flaggers in the area.
