Texas charter school students, parents, teachers, supporters and prospective families of charter schools are invited to watch the Dallas Mavericks play the Sacramento Kings at 7:30 p.m. on January 31 at American Airlines Center.

The event at the game is being planned by the Texas Charter Parent Teacher Alliance and tickets are discounted to just $27 per person. Students, parents, and staff should arrive at the game early and head to the Admiral Room One to receive a free gift.

Ten charter school students will have the opportunity to join the Mavericks on the floor during the National Anthem.

The Mavericks game group event is part of 5,500 independently-planned events taking place during National School Choice Week 2014 - the nation's largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity.

The Texas Charter Parent Teacher Alliance represents close to 90 percent of the charter students in every part of Texas. The Association advocates in Austin and Washington D.C. for member schools, improves their academic and financial performance through the implementation of the TCSA quality framework, and provides member services for school operators, board members, and staff. National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for children - including traditional public schools, public charter schools, magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.
