Jan 18 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened lower on Tuesday, dragged by weakness in technology stocks as U.S. Treasury yields rose, although losses were limited by gains in energy sector.

At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 158.54 points, or 0.74%, at 21,378.91. (Reporting by Amal S in Bengaluru; Editing by Shailesh Kuber)
