TNB TO HOST CEPSI 2018, MALAYSIA'S LARGEST POWER UTILITY CONFERENCE

Malaysia will host the 22nd Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry or (CEPSI) 2018 in Kuala Lumpur from 17th to 22nd September 2018. The last time CEPSI was held in Malaysia was in 1996 or 22 years ago.

The event, to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, will be the largest power utility conference ever for the country.

CEPSI is a must-attend event for CEOs, senior executives, engineers, government officials and experts in the electric and power sector. It is held every two years by the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP). TNB is holding the chairmanship of AESIEAP from 2017 to 2018.

TNB President/Chief Executive Officer and President of AESIEAP (2017-2018), Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd said that the conference will be one of the most enriching CEPSI ever held.

The theme "Reimagining Utility of the Future" chosen for CEPSI 2018 underpins the current scenario of how the electric supply industry is transforming in response the emergence and convergence of technology disruptions, economic shifts, evolving sustainability and regulatory requirements, and increasing customer expectations.

"The theme will address some interesting topics that include megatrends, sustainability, energy trilemma, digitalisation and smarter future.

"As such, this conference will be the ideal gathering for utility stakeholders to share their thoughts and ideas, hear from visionaries and learn from some of the best minds in the industry," said Datuk Seri Ir. Azman in his welcoming speech during the soft launch of CEPSI 2018 today.

"I would like to take this opportunity to invite AESIEAP members and other players from the power utility industry to take part in CEPSI 2018. We promise that CEPSI 2018 will be a rewarding and enriching experience for everyone," he added.
