Egg production rose 7.0% from November 2015 to 63.7 million dozen in November.

In December, placements of hatchery chicks on farms increased 0.2% compared with the same month a year earlier to 66.7 million birds.

Stocks of frozen poultry meat in cold storage on January 1, 2017, increased 7.4% from the same date a year earlier to 71 190 tonnes.
