The six Canadian Level I air carriers flew 5.3 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in November, up 9.0% from November 2015.

Traffic increased 10.4% to 12.4 billion passenger-kilometres, while capacity rose 11.1% to 15.7 billion available seat-kilometres. This resulted in a slightly lower passenger load factor in November 2016 (78.8%) than in November 2015 (79.2%), as capacity growth outpaced traffic growth.

The volume of turbo fuel consumed was up 7.3% to 487.2 million litres, while the number of flying hours increased 3.0% to 147,000.

Total operating revenue increased 4.7% from the same month a year earlier to $1.4 billion in November.
