The value of investment and current expenditure was slightly higher than in 2017
In 2018, gross investment for environmental protection amounted to EUR 238 million or 2.1% more than in 2017. The highest share in the structure of gross investment for environmental protection in 2018 was for waste management, namely almost 30.2% (EUR 72 million).
In 2018, current expenditure for environmental protection amounted to EUR 595 million or 12.0% more than in 2017. The highest share in the structure of current expenditure for environmental protection for 2018 was for waste management, namely almost 60.4% (EUR 359 million).

More than half of investments in industry end-of-pipe technologies
In the structure of gross investment for environmental protection in industry (sections of activity B, C, D) the share of end-of-pipe investment for environmental protection was 65.7% and the share of investment in integrated technologies was 34.3%.

The highest gross investment and current expenditure in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region
The regional structure of gross investment for environmental protection shows that the highest share of gross investment was contributed by the Osrednjeslovenska (40.2%), followed by and Spodnjeposavska (20.4%) and Savinjska (10.0%) statistical regions.
The highest share of current expenditure for environmental protection was contributed by the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region (29.7%), followed by Podravska (16.8%) and Savinjska (16.1%) statistical regions.
