Specsavers Optical : Meet the optometrist

Specsavers Yardley would like to introduce you to one of the store's optometrists, Jasdeep Matharu.

Jasdeep, has been a part of the Specsavers Yardley team for two years, after graduating from Aston University with a degree in optics and undertaking other work placement at various opticians.

Sight-saving career

Jasdeep said: 'I'm thrilled to have graduated and am very excited about my future at Specsavers. I've always wanted to be in a profession where you can help people and make a difference to their lives. In optometry, you can do just that by detecting sight threatening diseases.

The team have been so supportive and friendly while I've been studying and I'm hoping to continue my career development by undertaking additional postgraduate courses.'

A word from the store director

Store director, Dee Browning, said: 'Jasdeep is a great asset to the team and she's achieved so much since joining us. We're delighted to hear of her ambitious plans and are looking forward to watching her grow in her role.'
