MEDIA STATEMENT SINOPEC DAYLIGHT ENERGY LTD. INVESTIGATES WELLSITE INCIDENT IN THE WHITECOURT AREA
Calgary, AB - Sinopec Daylight Energy Ltd. ("Sinopec
Daylight") has confirmed the fatality of one of its contract
workers after an incident today at Sinopec Daylight's
location approximately 24 kilometres southwest of Whitecourt,
Alberta.
The contractor sustained injuries at the site and was quickly
transferred to hospital in Whitecourt where he later
succumbed to his injuries.
Sinopec Daylight has expressed that their thoughts are with
the family and friends of the victim, and they are
cooperating fully with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety
to investigate the cause of the incident.
