“We spent a great deal of time conceptualizing our new culinary program as we wanted to bring something both special and memorable to McCall,” said Dan Scott, president and general manager of Shore Lodge and Whitetail Club. “The Narrows Steakhouse’s debut is a point of pride for us all, and completes our vision of offering the finest food and drinks, with something for everyone. We are thrilled with what we have delivered to our community and resort guests in one of the most stunning locations in the country.”

The Narrows Steakhouse, designed to give every guest a warm and inviting place to enjoy dinner with breathtaking views, presents a stately atmosphere with lodge-inspired furnishings set in a modern way while preserving the sense of place. The traditional plaids and rich pecan leather seating add a handsome touch to the restaurant, while tall wood-cladded walls and art wall add another layer of detail for the eye. The restaurant offers three different settings: the main dining room, which seats 46 people; a secluded wine room that seats up to 16 guests; and a mountain-modern wine cellar detailed with reclaimed wood and glass walls, that houses just over 2,000 bottles of wine with 480 labels.

Open nightly from 5:30 p.m.-10 p.m., The Narrows Steakhouse replaces Shore Lodge’s former fine dining option, The Narrows, and offers an inspired regionally-sourced menu. Hand-selected, aged cuts of USDA Prime beef from Idaho-based Agri Beef Company deliver standout steaks, including specialties like a 45-day dry aged bone-in Prime New York strip and a 34-ounce Prime Bone-In Tomahawk Ribeye. The addition of a box of varied steak knives, including the Laguiole from France; the Shun from Japan; and the Chroma from Germany, designed by Porsche, brought to the table for the guest’s selection prior to the course’s arrival adds a level of thoughtfulness to the experience. For those looking to diversify the palette, wood grilled whole-lobsters, Snake River Farms’ dry aged Kurobuta pork chop, Lava Lakes’ rack of lamb and rosemary-lavender roasted chicken are among other available options. The cocktail menu includes signature items such as the Winter Margarita, the Huckletini and the classic Old Fashioned.

The Narrows Steakhouse opens on the heels of The Bar, Shore Lodge’s most recently unveiled culinary concept. Drawing influence from the area’s mining and timber-town heritage in its design, The Bar offers guests and locals a welcoming community spirit, perfect for an evening out with friends and loved ones. A robust wine list, hand crafted cocktails, and local, regional and international craft beers compliment the small plate, tapas-style menu. The resort’s first new culinary concept, The Cutwater at Payette Lake opened in summer 2017 serving breakfast lunch and dinner, and offers a skillfully prepared and locally-inspired menu in a family friendly indoor and outdoor setting.

A McCall landmark since 1948, Shore Lodge is located just two hours north of Boise, on the edge of the largest area of protected wilderness in the continental United States. It marries the best in premier lodging with the majesty of a mountain-based sanctuary, offering guests an intimate and authentic multi-season getaway in a destination preserved in time.
