ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) has named Kirkland H. Donald as President and CEO, effective Jan. 6, 2014.

Retired Navy Admiral Kirk Donald joined SPA as Executive Vice President in June 2013 after a 37-year career in the U.S. Navy. His last assignment, for eight years, was Director, Naval Nuclear Propulsion and Deputy Administrator, National Nuclear Security Administration's Naval Reactors. Prior to that, he served as Commander of the U.S. Submarine Forces.

Having founded SPA in 1972, Phillip E. Lantz, President and CEO of SPA for 41 years, will continue as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Under his leadership, the three-person company grew to a $100M per year organization, providing decision support for national security programs through the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Energy.
