We are continuing construction on the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Phase One project to rebuild 100 year old rail infrastructure and improve transit service. Work will be performed that will affect your community and create inconveniences. We are committed to doing our best to minimize the impact of our work and will continue to keep you updated throughout the project.

Monday, January 27 to Sunday, February 2, 2020

Location:

  • W Roscoe Street, between Clark Street & Sheffield Avenue
  • N Sheffield Avenue, between W Roscoe Street and N Clark Street

Work Hours: 7am to 7pm, daily (street closure is continuous)

Work Activity: Equipment Mobilization, Staging & Drilled Shaft Foundation Installation

Local Impact:

  • W Roscoe Street will be closed from Clark Street to Sheffield Avenue.
  • N Sheffield Avenue between W Roscoe Street and N Clark Street will continue its current closure.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of W Roscoe Street will be partially closed, but access to businesses will remain.
  • The sidewalk on the west side of Sheffield Avenue within the work area will remain closed.
  • The sidewalks on the east side of Sheffield Avenue and the south side of W Roscoe Street will remain open.
  • The contractor will maintain access for garbage pick-up and deliveries.
  • There will be minimal traffic disruptions on N Clark Street as equipment is moved from W Roscoe Street to 3370 N Clark Street
