Publix Issues Allergy Alert for Chicken and Beef Fajitas and Pork Chorizo Burger

Out of an abundance of caution, Publix Super Markets is issuing a voluntary recall for ready-to-cook beef and chicken fajitas and pork chorizo burgers because they may contain peanuts that are not declared on the packaging. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the products which include:

Chicken Fajitas				UPC: 25907-00000				Sell by dates through Jan. 14, 2015
Beef Fajitas				UPC: 25976-00000				Sell by dates through Jan. 14, 2015
Pork Chorizo Burger				UPC: 84930-00000				Sell by dates through Jan. 14, 2015

Note: The five zero’s in the UPC will vary based on weight and price.

Publix discovered this allergen contamination from our supplier of spice mix. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

These ready-to-cook products are available for sale at all Publix stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Products are packaged in foam trays with plastic over-wrap. Recalled products include all sell-by dates through 01/14/2015.

"Consumers who have purchased the products in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund.
