The pledge to reduce emissions of the extremely potent greenhouse gas is one of the key commitments at COP26, although it is not part of the formal negotiations at the United Nations. Achieving these targets will contribute significantly to slowing global warming. More than 100 countries representing 70% of the global economy have endorsed this initiative. Among its supporters is also Slovenia.

At the end of his two-day visit, Prime Minister Janša said that a lot of coordinating between the EU and its partners around the world had taken place in the margins of the climate conference, and that a number of outstanding issues had been addressed. There had also been many opportunities for bilateral talks regarding Slovenia's cooperation with countries from other continents. "It's nice to have friends everywhere," tweeted Prime Minister Janša.
