President Bronislaw Komorowski on Monday signed into law a bill amending the law on the coal mining industry that will enable the government's recovery plan for the ailing Coal Company (KW) to be implemented.

"I have signed (the bill) deeply convinced that it serves the agreement with miners and its implementation," President Komorowski said at a press conference.

He underlined that the new regulations had been awaited by the coal mining community as a framework for better restructuring of the mining industry.

The new law "is an element of sensible measures to resolve even the most difficult problems by way of agreement and not conflict," the president remarked. (PAP)
