The go-to source for excellence in continuing medical education, Physicians' Education Resource®, LLC (PER®), will host its flagship conference, the 31st Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference® on March 6-9, 2014, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

This year, the continuing medical education company is pleased to announce that Patrick I. Borgen, MD, Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Maimonides Hospital, and Director of the Brooklyn Breast Cancer Program, Brooklyn, New York, will be Program Chair of the 31st Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®. For the past 3 decades, this conference has been filled with prestigious faculty in the areas of surgery, radiation, and medical oncology.

Dr. Borgen will lead the meeting with an esteemed group of program directors and faculty to create a multidisciplinary agenda that will impact the practices and patient outcomes for over 1,000 medical and surgical oncologists.

This year, Dr. Borgen and the faculty will present educational sessions that will provide insight into the optimal management of patients with breast cancer. Dr. Borgen and other thought leaders will provide attendees with opportunities to interact with the faculty through open discussions, as well as share clinical experiences, solve clinical problems, clarify best practices, and discuss well-established and emerging therapeutic options.

"I am thrilled to be chairing this year's Miami Breast Cancer Conference®. This year we have added multidisciplinary tumor boards that will be featured prominently during each and every segment, and will provide context for how data presented can be applied to current practice patterns. Our motto remains, 'Hear it on Friday, use it on Monday.' This year's meeting is one you will not want to miss," said Dr. Borgen.

Previously, the Miami Breast Cancer Conference® was chaired by Dr. Daniel Osman, a Miami breast cancer surgeon who founded and led the event since 1983. Dr. Osman was named Chair Emeritus of the conference in 2013 and has passed on the chair responsibility on to Dr. Borgen.
