People Government of Jilin Province : Changchun City Has 291 Good Air Days in 2016

Learned from Changchun Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, Changchun City's ambient air quality improved significantly in 2016. The good air days numbered 291, including 55 excellent air days and 236 good air days. The number of excellent air days grew 18 year on year and the number of severe pollution days dropped 44 year on year. The average concentration of main pollutants in the air, inhalable particulate matters (PM10) and fine particles (PM2.5), was 78 μg / m3 and 46 μg / m3, down 29 μg / m3 and 20 μg / m3 year on year, respectively.

According to environmental protection and meteorological experts' analysis, the ambient air quality improvement is the combined result of the favorable meteorological conditions and a number of air pollution control measures. In recent years, Changchun Municipal Party committee and government have attached great importance to the air pollution prevention and control work, taken the environmental air quality improvement as an important measure to protect and improve the people's livelihood, and comprehensively carried out elimination of small coal-fired boilers, industrial enterprise pollution control, elimination of vehicles failing to meet the European No.1 standard for exhaust emissions, dust pollution prevention and control, control of straw burning and other air pollution prevention and control work.
