The Comprehensive Public Management Program (PIGP) that PETROPERÚ developed with the support of the Center for Consulting and Integrated Services of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (INNOVAPUCP) concluded with notable acceptance, seeking to strengthen the institutional capacities of local governments in the area of influence of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP).

For nine months, officials and public servants of the provincial municipality of Condorcanqui and the district municipality of Imaza, in the Amazon region; as well as the municipalities of Datem del Marañón, Manseriche and Urarinas, in Loreto, participated in the theory sessions and practical workshops, held virtually, by a multidisciplinary team of specialists from INNOVAPUCP. The seven modules of the program contributed to consolidate knowledge in the following topics: Institutional Organization, Strategic Planning in the public sector, Management and Budgeting for Results, Public Investments and IAORR, supply management and contracting, as well as the use of SIGA and SIAF.

It should be noted that, to carry out this conference -started in October 2020- the state company had the permanent support of the PUCP and its INNOVAPUCP program, which has been designed by collecting evidence and previous experiences with the aim of contributing to the strengthening of provincial and district governance in the Amazon.

In this way, the state oil company -committed to the sustainable development of these regions- seeks to develop skills and impart knowledge in favor of local governments and the improvement of the living conditions of the communities of the Peruvian jungle.

The closing day was attended by Adelino Rivera Pérez, Provincial Mayor of Datem del Marañon; Lline Linares Rojas, District Mayor of Urarinas; Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, General Manager of PETROPERÚ; Beatriz Alva Hart, Social Management Manager of the state company; Edmundo Beteta Obreros, Executive Director of INNOVAPUCP and Flavio Ausejo Castillo, Project Manager.
