PEMEX Petróleos Mexicanos : Gradual Fuel Pricing Policy to Remain; The Formula Guarantees Stability

​Petróleos Mexicanos assures that the gradual fuel pricing policy that has successfully been applied in the country since last year will be maintained, and categorically rejects any speculations on the matter that claim an impending increase in fuel prices.

Pemex reaffirms that the formula used to determine wholesale fuel and diesel prices in Mexico includes assessment mechanisms that reduce the possibility of price volatility, and therefore there is no reason to anticipate a sudden increase in fuel prices, which has not occurred.

As the formula has proven since it was applied, it guarantees pricing stability, with daily adjustments in line with the conditions of an open and competitive market. This also occurs in the rest of the world.

It must be added that the Mexican Association of Fuel Entrepreneurs (acronym in Spanish: AMEGAS), which represents less than 5 per cent of the total number of entrepreneurs in the sector, has constantly made statements regarding fuel prices. These statements have proven to be faulty or even intentionally misleading, and therefore we ask the public for prudence and to prevent spreading disinformation on such a delicate subject.

Petróleos Mexicanos reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the quality of its fuel and service in the almost 12 thousand service stations of the Pemex Franchise, which now are a part of an innovative business model that will guarantee improvement to their customer service.
