NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Reaffirming the commitment to continue its vision as advocates for the protection of individuals and their access to civil justice, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (http://octla.org) swore in their 2016 incoming President, Vincent D. Howard, its 2016 Officers, and Members of the Board of Directors at a Gala in Newport this past weekend.

The Swearing in ceremony, which was the organizations 53(rd), and featured a keynote address by the well-respected Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez who gave both praise and support for the members of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and its incoming president Vincent D. Howard.

OCTLA's outgoing President Ted Wacker, who presided over the evening's events, expressed a great deal of excitement for the year ahead with Howard at the helm of the organization and pointed to the exceptional leadership skills he would bring to the organization.

"Saturday night was a very humbling experience," said Vincent D. Howard. "Many of the people who were in that room are more than my colleagues, they are family. To be there to receive the kindness and support of my fellow attorneys, judges, and vendors made me very happy."

Upon taking the stage to accept his appointment, Vincent Howard praised the U.S. military for the leadership training obtained while serving in the Army and looked forward to using the skills to lead the association. "We are looking forward to an amazing year ahead," added Howard, "I've always believed in the motto of 'Mission First, People Always,' and I think applying this philosophy going forward will take our organization very far as we ensure that we provide the best care for our clients, our members, our judges, legislators, and the belief that a fair and effective judicial system is our right and any thought to the contrary is non-negotiable."

In addition to appointing the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association new President at the Gala Celebration, the 2016 slate of incoming Officers and Members of the Board of Directors were also sworn in and several noteworthy awards were presented, including the 'Judicial Excellence Award' which was presented to the Honorable Peter J.
