MiraMed Global Services, LLC (MiraMed), a leader in healthcare revenue cycle management services (RCM) and business processing outsourcing (BPO) solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of Michael P. O’Boyle as President. As President, Mr. O’Boyle oversees the strategic growth of the MiraMed Family of Companies. A seasoned senior executive in the healthcare industry, Mr. O’Boyle has experience as Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Operating Partner for esteemed companies such as Pamplona Capital Management, Parallon Business Solutions, UnitedHealth Networks (United Healthcare), the Cleveland Clinic, MedStar Health and others. O’Boyle’s varied experience in the healthcare industry, as well as his business credentials and financial acumen, make him well suited to lead alongside Tony Mira.

Tony Mira, Chairman & CEO of MiraMed Global Services shares his growth philosophy, “I have always prided MiraMed's Family of Companies on being dynamic, always seeking out the next best opportunity to better serve our clients and acquire new ones. In continuing toward that end, Mike brings the right experience and knowledge to further that goal. Mike will assist us in expanding our current offerings while acquiring new ones.”

Most recently, Mr. O’Boyle was an Operating Partner with Pamplona Capital Management. He has also served as President and CEO of HCA Holding’s Parallon Business Solutions and President of UnitedHealth Networks, the United Healthcare division responsible for contractual and service relationships with providers serving United Healthcare’s 25+ million members across commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business.

From 2001 through 2008, O’Boyle served as Chief Financial Officer (2001-2004) and Chief Operating Officer (2004-2008) of Cleveland Clinic. As CFO, he drove improvements to the Clinic’s financial health after a period of declining performance. As COO, he was not only responsible for operations on the main campus, but led the organization’s regional hospitals and clinics in Ohio, Florida and its international ventures.

For 10 years prior, O’Boyle was an Executive Vice President with MedStar Health and one of its legacy organizations, the MedlanticHealthcare Group, serving most significantly as MedStar’s Executive Vice President and CFO. He was instrumental in the formation of MedStar through the merger of Medlantic and Helix Health as well as the organization’s acquisition of the Georgetown University Medical Center.

O’Boyle currently serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Catherine University and on the Board of Directors of LifeCare Health Partners. Prior Board service includes Catholic Health Initiatives, Hospital Billing and Collection Service, the Greenspring Fund, and United Medicorp.

The past few years have been very exciting for the MiraMed family. Tony Mira, Chairman & CEO of MiraMed Global Services adds, “With our three recent acquisitions, (Plexus Technology Group, Plexus Management Group and MiraMed On Call), MiraMed has become a broader healthcare services company. We are now a respected technology company serving clients in both North American and Central America. As we continue to expand our service offerings we do it with our sights set firmly on where we can enhance the healthcare industry.”

MiraMed is always looking for ways to improve, excel and differentiate ourselves. We continually strive to be a leader in our market. In keeping with this aim, we hired O’Boyle to help us take our company to the next level. As you can see from O’Boyle’s extensive background in the healthcare sector, especially at the executive level, he will bring a fresh perspective to the organization in his role as President and we are looking forward to utilizing that perspective to grow and further improve our posture in the industry.
