Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russian Fe : On transfer to Russian MIA of missions abroad and representatives in foreign states of abolished Russian Federal Migration Service and Russian Federal Drug Control Service

Draft Decree of the President of the Russian Federation 'On missions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation abroad, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in foreign states, to international organizations' (hereinafter - 'the draft decree') was published today for public discussion on the Federal Portal of Draft Regulations (http://regulation.gov.ru /) of the Russian MIA.

The draft decree was prepared in connection with the exclusion of a number of divisions from the Russian MIA and assignment to the MIA of the functions of the abolished Russian Federal Migration Service and Russian Federal Drug Control Service.

The regulation proposes to transfer the missions abroad and representatives in foreign states of the abolished Russian Federal Migration Service and Russian Federal Drug Control Service to the Russian MIA subject to the provisions stipulated in the regulations of the President of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation regarding the abolished services, and for the purpose of preservation of their existing structure to allow the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to have the staff size of the missions, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in foreign states and their deputies, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to international organizations totaling 100 employees within the personnel ceiling of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation, without inclusion into the personnel ceiling of the Headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The draft decree also proposes to allow the Russian MIA to have its representatives to international organizations (Permanent Mission of Russia to the Unites Nations in New York and Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN and the OSCE in Vienna).
