Policemen of the General Administration for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption (GAES&CC) of the Russian MIA together with Divisions for Economic Security and Combating the Corruption of the Russian MIA Administration for the Ryazan Region suppressed a corruption scheme involving receipt of illicit remuneration from commercial entities' representatives in the amount of 20-30% of the subsidies allocated to them from the regional budget allegedly for reimbursement of employers' expenses for employment of disabled people and for creation of jobs for jobless citizens. The police suspect the staff of State Public Institution 'Job Center of the Ryazan Region' of being involved in the unlawful activity.

In particular, the police were reported about the existing arrangement between the head of a unit of the institution and a local businessman about ensuring by the Job Center officials of employment for sixteen jobless citizens and eight disabled people and about allocation of subsidies in this connection in the amount exceeding 2.4 million rubles. The illegal remuneration should have totaled 740 thousand rubles.

In the course of the investigative work, the police documented the fact of transfer to the malefactor of the first part of the illegal remuneration - 270 thousand rubles. The suspect was detained red-handed; the money was confiscated in the presence of public representatives.

The materials collected were forwarded to investigation authorities that would render a procedural ruling.

The police continue implementing measures aimed to detect other cases of the illicit activity, as well as to identify persons implicated in the corruption scheme.
