The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Teodor Meleșcanu, welcomed today, 12 January 2017, the Ambassador of France in Romania, François Saint-Paul.

On this occasion, the two officials exchanged views regarding the stage and the prospects of the relations between Romanian and France, as well as the agenda of the bilateral contacts in the next time span, pointing out the common commitment to strengthen the privileged bilateral relation and to further implement the updated roadmap of the Strategic Partnership, on all levels.

Furthermore, the two officials approached the main challenges that the European Union faces at the moment, as well as the prospects to consolidate the European project. On this background, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reasserted the importance of a structured and concrete coordination between Romanian and France at European level.

During the dialogue, they evoked the excellent collaboration of the parties in preparing the Romania-France Cultural Season, a complex bilateral cultural programme that will take place between 1 December 2018 and 30 June 2019.
