Undersecretary Scalfarotto is visiting Toronto (Canada) to inaugurate the first edition of 'WeLoveModainItaly Toronto', organised by CNA Federmoda, in collaboration with the Italian Foreign Ministry and the ICE - Italian Foreign Trade Agency, in support of the fashion and accessory sector.

The visit also aims to strengthen economic relations with one of the wealthiest regions in the country, as testified by the meeting with Ontario's Minister of Economic Development, Victor Fedeli. In the first 11 months of 2019, in fact, trade between Italy and Ontario accounted to almost 50% of all Italy-Canada trade. The Undersecretary will also have meetings with the representatives of the Italian production system and Italian businesses, and will visit several production plants operated by Italian enterprises.

'The Canadian market, following the entry into force of the Canada-Europe Trade Agreement CETA, features a significant growth of Italian exports in particular: plus 438 million euros' - Mr. Scalfarotto said - 'The presence of numerous SMEs is a reminder that it is small businesses, above all, that stand to gain from free trade agreements, thanks to the recognition of standards and the removal of non-tariff barriers'.
