Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : The First Female Inspector General of Ministry of Finance

Jakarta, 24/01/2017 MoF - Sumiyati who previously served as the Head of Financial Education and Training Agency (BPPK) was inaugurated as the Inspector General (IG) of the Ministry of Finance (MoF). This moment is the first time Inspector General occupied by a woman. Sumiyati was sworn as the Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance replacing Kiagus Ahmad Badaruddin who served as Head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in October 2016 ago.

In the inauguration day of Echelon I officials on Monday (23/01), the Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati congratulated Sumiyati in a particular way who are the first female Inspector General at the Ministry of Finance.

The Minister also advised the new Inspector General can see the evolution of the IG rapidly during four periods of leadership. She wants Inspectorate of Investigation (IBI) to be better, faster, and more accurate than journalistic investigation, The Audit Board (BPK) and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). 'Before the other institutions find a case, we better find it first,' she said.

Besides, the Minister also hoped to officials appointed to become leaders and managers who are loyal, dedicated, and full of integrity. 'I want to use Mrs. Sum's leadership to create IG as a well-respected and effective organization,' said the Minister.

For additional information, based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 / TPA Year 2017 concerning Termination and Designation of, and in Intermediate High Level Position within the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati inaugurated 2 Echelon I officials namely Sumiyati as Inspector General (IG) and Astera Primanto Bhakti as the Chief Financial Education and Training Agency (BPPK) on Monday (23/01).
