Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : Minister of Finance Delivers the Important Role of Kemhan and TNI in Creating Credibility

Jakarta, 12/01/2017 MoF - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the budget allocation of the Ministry of Defence and the military depends on the state financial condition in the State Budget (APBN). Furthermore, according to her, APBN should be an instrument of policy that should be maintained both in terms of its effectiveness and credibility in order to create a fair and prosperous society.

In addition, the Minister affirms that the Ministry of Defense and Indonesian Military (TNI) have an important role to help creating the State's credibility. People used to ignore their tax responsibility, but they were provided services by TNI.

'It is for the country,' said the Minister when becoming a speaker at Board Meeting of Defense Ministry of 2017 in Bhineka Tunggal Ika Hall, General Sudirman Building, Jakarta on Thursday (12/01).

According to the Minister, sense of security is required in establishing an institution in order to protect the communities. Besides, the government needs to create confidence for its apparatus to be able to maintain the security and defense of the country.

'If this republic cannot make that feeling to its apparatus, it will be unstable. We cannot build a strong republic as long as tax ratio remains low,' she said.

Ending her presentation, the minister expects the Defense Ministry and TNI to maintain its expenditure effectively and efficiently. Beside, MoF is ready to assist Defense Ministry to improve the welfare of soldiers and also the ability of primary defense systems.

'The goal is that the Republic of Indonesia has a formidable military to be prod of,' she concluded.(ags/ab)
