Jakarta, 10/01/2016 MoF - Government and House of Representatives (DPR) agreed on assumption of growth target at 5.1 percent in 2017 State Budget. The target, according to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, was set in prudent way due to global economic uncertainty. 'When I discussed it with DPR, the global situation is considered to remain uncertain,' the Minister said during the National Working Meeting of Ministry of Finance themed 'Synergy for the Nation'.

Years after 2014 crisis was challenging for Indonesia. She pointed out the declining commodities prices which lead to the decreasing government revenue and weakening global trade.

The recovery had been made in 2015 and 2016. Indonesia began trying to bounce back this year. 'In the last 3 years we have experienced a remarkably shock, this raises the question of the State Budget's credibility,' added the minister. According to the minister, it drives the government to set the 2017 State Budget more carefully.(as/rsa)
