Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : APBN’s Quality Reflects the State’s Quality

Jakarta, 11/01/2016 MoF - The government needs to manage its expenditure in a productive way to achieve 2017 State Budget that is credible, efficient, effective, and sustainable. This was firmly stated by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati in the National Working Meeting at Mezzanine Hall, Ministry of Finance on Tuesday (10/01).

The Minister explained that in managing a limited state budget, expenditure policy that is priotities-oriented is needed. In addition, to support qualified expenditures, the government also made financing by applying the precautionary principle.

'We must always think, what should I do if I had one trillion?' she explained.

The Minister further asked all employees and officials of the Ministry of Finance to have important roles and tasks in order to reach a qualified expenditure.

'Whether you are working on the revenue side or on the expenditure side, either you are at a supporting system in the Secretariat General, IG, you have a very important role to increase the quality of government expenditure,' the minister said.

Moreover, she also demands all employees and officials in the Ministry of Finance to always synergize the work and objectives with the objectives set by the state. In this regard, she stressed that the quality of a country's state budget will reflect the quality of the country.

'I took this job because the quality of a country is reflected by its state budget,' she said. (ab/rsa)
