Iranian Gov't. gains 83 percent of expected tax revenues in 9 months

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - The Iranian Government's tax revenues have grown by 30 percent over the first nine months of the current calendar year (starting March 21, 2013) as compared to the corresponding period a year ago, the Deputy Economy Minister and Head of Islamic Republic of Iran Tax Organisation (IRITO) Ali Asgari said here on Saturday.

From March 21 to December 21, he added, Iran's total tax earnings lived up to 83 percent of the target figure projected in the Budget for the current fiscal year starting March 21, 2013.

The Iranian Deputy Economy Minister went on to estimate that 90 percent of the target figure would be realised by the yearend.

"The exact amount of revenues for the next fiscal year (starting March 21, 2014) has not been finalised yet and we are still waiting for that to come in soon, but it is estimated to experience normal levels of growth as compared to this year's," he noted.

Asgari also underlined the possibility of instalment payments for firms and enterprises experiencing difficulties in meeting their tax payment obligations.
