(SHADA: TEHRAN) - An average 1.695 million tonnes of non-petroleum goods, with a total value of 511 million dollars, have been exported via the Iranian North-western Province of West Azerbaijan customs offices since the start of the current calendar year (March 21, 2013), a senior provincial customs official said.

Citing a report released by West Azerbaijan Customs Administration, Mir-Hashem Seyed Ahmadi told IRNA that West Azerbaijan's non-oil exports have posted a 45-percent growth in weight as compared to the corresponding period last year (USD 455 million).

Various types of fruits and vegetables, dairy products, cement, plastic products, machinery and automobile parts, grains, as well as steel, cast iron and iron manufactured products constituted West Azerbaijan's main export items, the Iranian official added.

Iraq, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Afghanistan, Italy and Germany were the main foreign markets for the Iranian provincial products, he noted, describing Iraq as the biggest importer with a share of 63 percent of the total figure.
