• The Consumer Price Index in 2016 was 100.97(2015=100), up 1.0 percent from the previous year.

• The Consumer Price Index was 101.56(2015=100) in December 2016. The index increased 0.1 percent from the preceding month and rose 1.3 percent from December 2015.

  • The index excluding agricultural products and oils was 101.86 in December 2016. The index decreased 0.1 percent from the preceding month and rose 1.2 percent from December 2015.

  • The index for Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Clothing and footwear, Furnishings, household equipment & routine maintenance and Health increased 1.1 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.1 percent and 0.1 percent respectively in December. The index for Transport and Restaurants and hotels went up 0.9 percent and 0.2 percent respectively in December.

• The index for Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, Recreation and culture and Miscellaneous goods and services decreased 1.0 percent, 0.2 percent and 0.5 percent respectively in December.

• The index for Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, Communication and Education remained unchanged in December.
